National Insecurity
In another show of how compromised the US intelligence community is, Bill Gertz writes an article about the recently exposed naval technology spy ring. This is a ring that has been operating for more then a decade, and has been able to steel vital data on US surface and submarine fleet.
It is believed that due to this data the Chinese have been able to build their own Aegis utilizing destroyer capable of engaging and neutralizing US missiles. In addition, by getting the information on our noise reducing technology for ships and submarines the PLA now has the ability to neutralize what was our greatest advantage (the US Navy).
A week ago he also published a shocking article on the arrest of a Chinese cell charged with importing surface to air missiles into the US. The story is interesting because it happened in my home town of Newark, NJ. What is more interesting is that a state owned Chinese company was behind this, so the only thing that I can draw from this is that the PRC leadership new of this and approved it.

The whole American Intelligence Network has collapsed.

I think Mr. Osinachi might overstate the problem a bit, but we do indeed have a problem. (of course, his own naive and misguided political views may have added to his overstatement.)
Much of the problem has its roots in our spy agencies going astray in the 60's and 70's and using their resources to oppress our own people. This led to congress crippling them in the process of getting them under control.
The recent fiasco with a couple of CIA operatives trying to undercut the President for their own personal political gain shows that they are still wasting resources inside the US instead of using those resources to keep the US safe.

China has no nation in the area to threaten them, why are they on war footing, and spending more on offensive weapons than any nation in the world. Don't suggest the USofA is spending more, the USofA is using all of its military capitol, trying to help the Iraqi people obtain freedom........a worthy cause, maybe the last nice thing the USofA attempts to do for the screwed up world.
