Global Warming
Finally, a politician that realizes that Global Warming is nothing but a "socialist scheme" designed to suck money out of the rich countries (most of which are Western).
The Canadians have finally made a correct decision in their politicians. Now we can stop blaming all Canadians and only focus on the French and liberal ones.
A great article by Robert O. Lawton (who is a Distinguished Professor, Meteorology and Oceanography for FSU; Secretary of Navy Professor of Meteorology and Oceanography) helps to shed light on the other side of the Global warming debate that seems to always be missed by the media.

Come on now. Even Bush says it is man made now.
So, now we agree with Bush?
Of course. He is so likable. I just trust him. :)
I just read the article by Dr. James J. O’Brien. I too have studied climate for many years (although probably not to the depth Dr. O'Brien has).
While ratifying Kyoto would clearly be the wrong answer, I do believe we are headed for a serious climate change. The signs of change are beyond doubt.
I do agree we should provide better computers and resources to model the climate changes. This is one area I believe should be funded by multiple sources - government, industry, and foundations should get involved.
(And each University should get funding from so many sources that no one source can strongly influence the research.)
I don't think we can avoid these climate changes - but some of the eco-friendly ideas should be useful in coping with those changes when they get here. And that is where I think we should put our effort - into coping stratagies.

I agree, there is probably little we can do to prevent climate change. Coping strategies is the key.
I certainly hope the pendulum swings the other way soon. This global warming hyteria is waaaay overblown.
I'll just add, I read that 20 years ago global colding was the big fear.

Alek OT here but I wonder if you have seen this story. Hope to hear your opinion.
I have not seen that particular article, but have read a lot about the predicted Ice Age that was supposed to already happen.
This shows that climatology is a new science that has many theories, but few laws. Regrettably one of the theories has been taken as law by the Western world.
