China has sentenced a 26 year old Kenyan student Oliviah Singaniabe Munoko to a life sentence for trying to sneak 1.896 kg or about 4.18 pounds of heroin from Malaysia.

This was a lenient sentence because Ms. Munoko is a Kenyan citizen and admitted to the crime right away. The standard punishment in China for drug trafficking is to be summarily executed.

No three strikes rule in the People's Republic.

Communism and Islam: Enemies of the Internet

Reporters Without Borders has come out with a report of the 13 countries it considers to be enemies of the Internet. The thirteen countries in no particular order are: Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Myanmar, China, North Korea, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Uzbekistan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and Vietnam.

As can be seen all the countries share a couple of similarities. They are either Communist, Muslim, or both and they are all allied against the US and the West. Just some food for thought.

House of the Rising Sun

Japan is beginning to shift its military focus from defending against Russia, who they never officially signed a peace treaty with after WWII, to protecting against the Chinese threat. Strategy Page is reporting that Japan is building their new search radars and electronic intelligence facilities on the Miyako islands.

The Miyako Islands, which are 1,800 kilometers southwest of Tokyo, are 180 kilometers east of the disputed (between China, Taiwan and Japan) Senkaku islands. The Senkakus' are also 220 kilometers from Taiwan, 360 kilometers from China, and 360 kilometers from Okinawa.

Out of all the nations in Asia, Japan is the one that is most afraid of China. This is not only because it threatens its economic dominance, but also because the Peoples Republic has not forgotten about the Japanese occupation of China during the 30's and 40's. This is why we should use Japan as our counterweight to China in Asia, and let them rearm themselves, to help us better contain the Red Chinese.
